crakck asked you: Hi, there :) I’m starting to learn how to use Photoshop and I saw your post explaining how to edit. It’s a great help! And I’ve downloaded the texture pack you recommended but I can’t copy-paste it to the picture I’m editing. Can you help me? Thanks :D
I’m glad my post helped you!
I’m going to try to explain how to use a texture.
First off, unzip the texture pack if you didn’t do that already. Then open one of the textures in photoshop as well as the photo you’re working on.
Select the top layer on the photo and then go to the texture.
Click ctrl+A (pc) or cmd+A (mac) to select the whole texture. The “marching ants” will appear around the outlines of the picture like this:
Then click ctrl+C (pc) or cmd+C (mac) to copy the texture.
Select the picture your working on and then click ctrl+V (pc) or cmd+V (mac) to paste the texture over your edit.
Then change the blending mode to screen.
In swedish it’s called
raster but I tink it’s called
screen in english. If that’s wrong then try the ones that are in the same group as
lighten and one will be right haha. This works on textures that are mostly dark and you want the light parts to show. If you have a texture that is light, like
this for example, then you should set the blending mode to
multiply and then maybe lower the opacity a little bit.
If you want to, you can move the texture using this tool

aaaaand we should be finished!
Hope this helps, and again if anything’s unclear I will be happy to help you!
